TIRANA, June 12 – Albanian authorities made presentations in Brussels, outlining the investment opportunities for Belgian businessmen in Albania.
The Ministry of Economy, Trade and Energy, together with Albinvest and the Tirana Chamber of Commerce and Industry, organized a ‘Doing Business in Albania’ conference in Brussels in close cooperation with some Belgian counterparts.
Vice Minister Eno Bozdo urged closer economic cooperation between the two countries. He explained the series of reforms undertaken from the Albanian government aiming at improving the business climate.
He said Albanian authorities are making efforts to approximate legislation and also business practices according to European standards. These reforms include a reduction of taxes and other costs of conducting business along with the inroduction of the flat tax in 2008.
Bozdo also urged Belgian investors to come and put their money in the country’s most lucrative industries such as energy, minerals, tourism and agro-processing.
