Britain launches streamlined visa procedures in Albania

TIRANA, June 18 – The United Kingdon’s embassy in Tirana announced it would launch new visa procedure on June 21st.
The UK embassy in Tirana said a new telephone-based information service and Web site to assist Albanian applicants seeking a visa for the United Kingdom would become operational.
Applicants will be able to speak with a skilled visa information service agent by calling 442-0-70-997-270, Monday through Friday between the hours of 0800 and 1700. Each call will cost the equivalent of $14 US dollars, payable by a credit or debit card with the Visa or Master Card logo using a secure, automated system. Visa Information Service agents will be able to e-mail applicants all related documents, including checklists, leaflets and official forms.
In addition, applicants can visit www.visainfoservices.com, a free Web site that provides both general and country-specific Visa information.
Application processing will be managed by WorldBridge Service, a division of Computer Sciences Corporation, a leading global information technology (IT) services company.
UK visas manages more than 150 visa-issuing offices around the world in UK embassies, high commissions and consulates, with entry clearance statistics indicating processing of more than 2.5 million Visa applications in 2005-2006.
