TIRANA, June 20 – The government approved a project on Wednesday to create a strategic partnership in the Information Technology sphere with Microsoft Corporation.
Based on the project, the government plans to offer computers and internet access to all schools, starting with high schools, and followed by elementary schools.
It also plans to offer internet at affordable prices in centers as well.
“The government is obliged to protect the public interest of the Albanian children and with the current price the internet is a prohibited apple,” said Prime Minister Sali Berisha at the government meeting.
The government plans to “bring the country to the digital area’ based on this agreement.
The premier also said that the executive would take additional steps to stop the piracy of computer software.
