TIRANA, July 9 – Albania and the United States began joint military exercises on Monday, code named Courageous Eagle 07, with the Albanian fast interference army brigade and the New Jersey’s National Guard.
The training aims at qualitative increase of the inter-operation, perfection of the standard NATO procedures, armament, shooting, improving tactical levels, and increasing capacities of lower level officers and other aspects of training, such as speaking English.
The Albanian army was represented by 33 soldiers, cadets and officers, including a medical team, while the New Jersey’s guard had 47 personnel.
The first stage of the exercise held in Albania is to last from July 7 until July 21, while the second stage will be held in the United States from August 11-25 in Fort Drum, New York.
Cooperation with the New Jersey guard began in 2001 and includes firefighting service, civil emergency training, environment protection, medical cooperation and other fields.
