TIRANA, July 23 – Police said last weekend they had attacked an infamous criminal ring that had committed many crimes some years ago, including the killing of police officers.
Police arrested four persons in Mirdita and Fier, adding they were continuing to look for other gang members. They considered the ring of “significant social danger” operating in the district of Mirdita making up a “serious threat to public order and security in the area.”
The ring had committed crimes during the 1996-2002 period, including the murder of policeman Gjon Pa趫u and injuries of three other policemen.
