TIRANA, Sept. 6 – Albania pays great importance to its ties with China and is willing to further strengthen the friendship between the two countries, said Albanian president Bamir Topi when he met with a visiting delegation of the Communist Party of China (CPC).

“Albania and China are enjoying fundamental traditional friendship. With our joint efforts we hope to deepen the bilateral relations between our two countries,” continued Topi.

The Chinese delegation was headed by Wang Jiarui, head of the international department of the CPC central committee.

“Albania wants to strengthen its cooperation with China in various fields, such as politics, trade, energy and infrastructure,” Berisha said.

Wang said both the CPC and the Chinese government highly valued the traditional friendship between the two countries, and that the CPC hopes to strengthen its contacts and cooperation with the Albanian political parties to further bilateral relations between the countries.

The Chinese delegation visited Albania, part of a tour, at the invitation of Albania’s ruling Democratic Party.
