TIRANA, Sep. 10 – The Konfindustria association of businessmen hailed the launch of the National Registration Center and also praised parliament for assisting and supporting its opening.

“Cutting short the time of registration and improvement of the control and transparency of the process are elements that really serve to the fall of the bureaucratic cost and guarantee the launching of a business,” said a statement.

The NRC will facilitate the businesses climate in the country by registering any business in just one day, as opposed to the 42 days it took previously.

The NRC is the main and only office where businesses will register and also update their data.

Creating the NRC was an initiative of the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Energy (METE) to reform business registration procedures.

A new law on business registration reform was enacted by the Parliament on May 3, 2007 as part of the government program to improve the business climate in Albania.

The NRC’s registration procedures will greatly simplify and reduce the cost of business registration services, by reducing to one day the time required to register new businesses and when making changes in registered company information. Licenses required for specific activities will be obtainable after, not as a condition before, business and tax registration. It will also improve and simplify the procedures to create new businesses and encourage entrepreneurs.
