TIRANA, Oct.2- All taxis in Tirana and other urban centers will have to possess meters in order to avoid abusing the public. The decision has been taken by the General Directory of Measurements and Calibration, which has also determined all technical parameters that will be applied to the equipment itself. The measure has been communicated to taxi owners. The directory has to approve the equipment and has made public several private firms that trade taxi meters which are eligible under the requirements of the proper authorities. All taxi owners which apply for their work license in municipalities will be asked to determine the type of taxi meter that they will use.
