STRASBOURG, Oct. 12 – Recognizing that trafficked persons are victims rather than illegal immigrants or criminals, and improving the standards of care they receive, were the focus of a regional seminar held in Belgrade on Thursday.
Some 100 experts, representatives of the Council of Europe, governments and non-governmental organizations from surrounding countries discussed anti-trafficking experiences, lessons learned and new ways to cooperate during the two-day seminar.
