TIRANA, Nov. 26 – The Albanian opposition is preparing protests against the governing Democratic party and the way the governing coalition has taken the country into deeper crisis, according to them. They did not make it clear in what form.
The party’s leadership analyzed the situation and following that leaders of the opposition parties had a morning coffee to discuss on their further efforts, which seemed to be some kinds of protest, according to the local media.
The opposition is claiming bad governance from the government of Prime Minister Sali Berisha mentioning the power crisis, increased poverty and grabbing of all the country’s powers into their hands.
The opposition has also claimed that with the election of the new prosecutor general the governing coalition has already broken the deal for a reform in the judiciary. They will not give consensus on anything in that reform. Electoral reform is another main topic of concern for the country and the political life. On the other side, Astrit Patozi, head of the governing Democrats parliamentary group, appealed to the opposition to join forces in the country’s much-needed reforms. He said that Albania’s challenges definitely need joint efforts to reach the two main goals _ membership into NATO and the European Union.
