Stability Pact discusses regional cooperation in Tirana

TIRANA, Dec. 4 – Stability Pact nations have held a two-day meeting in the Albanian capital to discuss democracy and economic development in the participating countries.
The meeting paid special attention to regional cooperation.
The Pact has always aimed at strengthening regional cooperation as a first step toward full integration of member countries into the European Union.
The Pact will create a Council of Regional Cooperation to fulfill that goal that is to begin operating next year.
“The Stability Pact has served for strengthening the political dialogue and contributing to avoiding crises,” said Albanian Foreign Minister Lulzim Basha.
Some 250 participants were present at the meeting from member countries, international organizations and countries offering funding.
