TIRANA, Dec. 1 – During October of 2007 there were exported 8,222 mln leks of commodities, an increase of 9.3 percent compared to Oct. 2006 and a decrease of 1.1 percent compared to the previous month, according to the Institute of Statitics.
There were imported 33,790 mln leks commodities, 26.4 percent higher than a eyar ago and 0.7 percent less than Sep. 2007.
This month the trade deficit was 25,568 mln leks, or 0.6 percent less than a month ago, or 33.1 percent more than Oct. 2006.
Trade with the EU countries covered 64.8 percent of the total. The main trade partners remain Italy and Greece. With Italy the export was 80.3 percent and the import 47.2 percent, while with Greece the export was 9.3 percent and the import 21.8 percent.
Some of the partners countries with which commercial exchange increased were: Germany, Italy, China, Ukraine.
