TIRANA, Dec. 24 – Tens of thousands of Albanian immigrants coming from neighboring Greece, Italy and other European countries had to again suffer the hardship of delays at border crossings.
Despite measures by the Albanian police to increase the number of check points, lines of cars and persons stretching kilometers waited for hours to cross the border in southern Albania and the ports of Durres and Vlora.
Albanian police also cooperated with the Greek counterparts asking them to also increase checkpoints.
Boder crossing has turned into a regular hardship for Albanian immigrants when returning home over summer or end of year festivities.
