World Bank forecast growth to Albania

TIRANA, Jan. 14 – A World Bank report notes that Albania, along with Hungary and Turkey, were considered to have three exceptional economies which will continue to show growth in 2008.

In Albania, growth is likely to be based upon continued strong domestic consumer demand, along with an increase in public investment.

That investment is crucial to overcome substantial problems in infrastructure, as power shortages now form a significant bottleneck to growth.

Gross worker remittances as a substantial share of GDP in 2006 in Albania was 15 percent.
