TIRANA, Jan. 13 – The American Chamber of Commerce in Albania organized its first Business Forum for 2008.
Participants were Gerta Picari, Director of the General Tax Directorate, and
Specialists from the General Tax Directorate.
The forum discussed such topics as the changes in the fiscal system that are approved and expected to be approved in the future; how the business and the tax administration will respond to the proper management of these changes; the continued application of the flat rate tax; changes in the accounting system; nationwide installation of cash registers; changes in laws regarding small business; new ways of registering a business; electronic payment of taxes; business expenses recorded by banks; and draft law on proposed tax procedures.
