Albania praised for economic freedom

TIRANA, Jan.16- The ‘2008 Index of Economic Freedom’ ranks Albania as 56th out of 162 countries in terms of economic freedom. This is a higher ranking than given to either Italy or Greece. The report, issued annually by the Heritage Foundation, was recently published in the New York-based Wall Street Journal. It considers indicators such as fiscal freedom, business freedom, government control, monetary policy, and other measurements in the daily business life of a country.
