TIRANA, Jan. 22 – The international press recently reported on Albania’s sale of weapons around the world; including figures which are hard to receive inside the country.
Albania sold $4.1 million worth of weapons in the second half of 2007, easily eclipsing its earlier pace, according to AENews.
In 2006 and 2007 combined, Albania’s weapons sales totaled almost 12 million dollars. Albania’s gross national exports totaled $792 million in 2006, according to the CIA.
Albania’s weapons imports were valued at $1.76 million in 2007, enough to qualify for NATO membership.
