Phone cards sold only on black market

TIRANA, Feb.20 -After the privatization of telecommunications company Albtelekom, phone cards used on street phones are impossible to be found, even inside the official Albtelekom website. At the same time, illegal traders have nearly doubled the price for phone cards. The problems resulted from contracting with a Turkish company to manufacture new cards during the period following the Albtelekom privatization.
