Black Sea Economic Cooperation forum helps strengthen ties with EU

TIRANA, Feb. 18 – Albanian Foreign Minister Lulzim Basha took part in the meeting of foreign ministers of the member countries of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation Forum along with officials of the European Union in Kiev from February 13-14.
The forum concluded with a statement expressing the need for additional cooperation with the EU and challenges to be solved from the member countries looking to EU membership. One billion Euros will be available for the 2008-2012 period to coordinate efforts toward EU membership, mainly in projects of infrastructure such as building roads, energy, communication, trade, and also culture.
The Burgas-Vlore AMBO oil project was also one of the topics discussed at the forum.
