VLORA, April 25- The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and the District Court of Vlore agreed last week to work together to improve the Vlore court system.
A memorandum of understanding was signed by Artur Malaj, Chairman of the Court, John Brannaman, USAID Program Officer, and Albert Pashaj, Chancellor of the Court.
The USAID Rule of Law Program will help the Vlore Court make its operations more efficient and accountable by introducing audio records of court hearings, computerized case management, the publication of decisions, and community outreach. The court will, in turn, allow close monitoring of judicial proceedings by civic groups and the media. (Tirana Times Staff)
