Kuwait total loans to Muslim countries stand at $10 billion

KUWAIT, May 5 – Last week, the
Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development
(KFAED) said it has provided
loans to 45 Muslim countries, including
Albania, worth $10 billion through
March 31, 2008 to support development
in those countries, according to its local
news agency.
In a report entitled, “Kuwait Fund
contributions to support development in
the Islamic world,” distributed at the
Fourth World Islamic Economic Forum,
the Kuwaitis said Albania had received
$75 million.
KFAED was established on December
31, 1961, as a mechanism through
which the State of Kuwait could extend
loans and aid to Arab and other developing
