TIRANA, May 13 – Albania formally started to head the Black Sea Cooperation Organization for the one-year term. Foreign Minister Lulzim Basha took part at the ceremony held in Istanbul, Turkey where the Permanent Secretariat is located. Reforms of the organization’s structure, cooperation ties with EU and UN. And widening cooperation at lower levels were the main priorities for the mandate. Albania would also promote strengthening of member ties into transport, energy, tourism, culture, environment protection, agriculture and other areas. Albania would organize some 55 activities during its mandate. (Tirana Times Staff)
