EBRD becomes Union Bank shareholder

TIRANA, July 2 – The central Bank of Albania approved the buying of 12.5 percent of the shares of Union Bank from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development.
The Union Bank issued 157,143 10-euro shares last April to be bought for three million Euros from EBRD.
The investment sought to further enhance the Union Bank’s credit position as part of a project called Italian Programme, Funding for Local Entreprises of the Western Balkans. (Tirana Times Staff)
