Kashar officials sentenced to prison terms

TIRANA, Feb 3 – The Tirana district court sentenced seven defendants accused of abuse of post, corruption and falsifying documentation in selling land in Kashar commune, near the capital Tirana, with 28 years imprisonment in total and 22 million leks to be paid.
The prosecutor had asked almost double those figures.
The defendants of the property scandal were sentenced with prison terms from 2 to 6 years. They were all existing or former officials at the local authorities of the commune.
