TIRANA, March 30 – A rightist political grouping asked that the head of the public Albanian radio and television be moved from his post as he has been very partial in favoring only the governing Democratic Party-led coalition.
The Christian Democratic Party condemned what it described as malicious and biased attitudes of the Albanian Radio Television and demanded the dismissal of its General Director Petrit Beci.
“It is more than a year that the Albanian Public Television continues diversion against the PDK trying to undermine the image of this political party, thus turned into a blind tool in the hands of a ruling clan which seeks to reduce that party’s role in the election, “said Ndue Shpani.
He continued to say that “today’s leaders of this institution, which is funded with the taxpayers’ money, have deleted the concept of public service time.”
The Christian Democrats asked for the removal of the RTSH head and all the other officials in the institution that are violating the law.
The same protest was made earlier this month by the opposition parties.
The Christian Democrats were part of the governing coalition until the summer of last year.
