Albania joins region against natural disasters

SARAJEVO, April 9؁lbania has signed a memorandum on Tuesday, thus becoming a member of the Disaster Preparedness and Prevention Initiative for South East Europe, the Albanian government stated.
The government added that Albania’s joining the Initiative will facilitate the access to funds and projects for the training and equipping of Albanian units that are first to react in cases of fires, floods, earthquakes and other natural disasters.
The Sarajevo meeting was, apart from the Albanian representatives, attended by the representatives of the authorized ministries and institutions from Serbia, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Montenegro, Croatia, FYRMacedonia, Moldavia, Romania, Slovenia, the European Commission, the NATO and the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent
