The local press in Kosove informs that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will have the interviews for the selection of the first eighteen ambassadors and embassy crews of the new-born state completed by the end of May.
The interviewing panel is composed of Presidency, Prime Minister, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Communities and Civil Society representatives. 328 applicants presented themselves after the call for candidates was released on the 13th of February 2009, on the eve of the first anniversary of the proclamation of Independence (17.02.2008).
The president of the Republic of Kosove has decreed the establishment of embassies in the USA, UK, France, Germany, Italy, Belgium, Austria, Switzerland, Albania, Turkey, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Netherlands, Hungary, Japan, Croatia, Slovenia and Sweden.
Kosove has already its charges d’affaires in ten of the named countries.
