TIRANA, June 15 – Albanian authorities warned that September could be the month of the threat of the swine flu cases in the country, which is still unaffected or untouched by any case.
The World Health Organization’s declaration last week that H1N1 flu is a full-blown pandemic was a strong warning to all countries, including Albania. The tiny Balkan country has yet to identify any suspect with the H1N1 infection. But authorities say that in summer many people will arrive from other countries where they reside and may bring the flu.
Hot weather is the enemy of the flu but it may start to gain ground in September when usually there are other cases of the flu. The WHO has pushed its pandemic alert to the highest level – Phase 6.
