Fellini’s movies for 5 days in Tirana

TIRANA, Federico Fellini, one of Italy’s most internationally renowned director, will be commemorated in Albania for five days in an event at the Palace of Culture in Tirana where some of his best movies will be screened for the public.
The event will open with the screening of the “La Dolce Vita” movie, which celebrates its 50th anniversary of release. Italian film critic Roberto Chiesi will also hold a discussion on La Dolce Vita, Felini’s most popular movie.
The event dedicated to late director Felini will continue from May 4 to 7 with the screening of other masterpieces by the Italian director including 8 1/2, Vitelloni, Saturicon and Casanova. All movies will be screened at the Mother Teresa hall of the Palace of Culture at 17.30.
The activity is organized by the Italian embassy in Tirana in the frame of the great season of events “Italy, Albania, Two Peoples, One Sea, One Friendship.
Italian filmmaker Federico Fellini made his reputation as one of the 20th century’s most influential movie directors between the 1950s and the 1970s. His relationship with Hollywood advanced his American appetite for international films.
During his first decade as a director he won Oscars for La Strada (1954), Le Notti di Cabiria (1957) and 8 1/2 (1963). He won a fourth for Amarcord (1974), and in 1992 Fellini was given a special Oscar for lifetime achievement.
