Da Vinci machines at Gjirokastra castle

TIRANA, May 18 – An exhibition featuring machines designed by Leonardo da Vinci but created in original dimensions by Giuseppe Manisco has opened at the Gjirokastra castle, southern Albania.
Some 40 machines created based on Da Vinci’s drawings are featured in the exhibition which will be open at the castle of the UNESCO World Heritage site of Gjirokastra until June 6.
The exhibition held under the great season of events “Italy, Albania, Two Peoples, One Sea. One Friendship” will move to the Academy of Arts from May 19 to 22.
The reproductions are art objects created by carefully studying and interpreting Da Vinci’s genial mind.
The exhibition presents machines based on the original drawings of Leonardo da Vinci, featuring his amazing flying machines, nautical, hydraulic and architectural innovations, groundbreaking applications of civil engineering and incredible war machines.
