TIRANA, June 30 – Albania’s southernmost coastal city of Saranda will host a 5-day wind instrument festival bringing together orchestras and ensembles from the whole country and the region. The festival’s sixth edition is scheduled from June 7 to 11.
The festival comes at the peak of the tourist season in Saranda, known for its pure Ionian waters which offer a mix of rocky and sandy beaches.
Wind orchestras from the Albanian cities of Tirana, Shkodra, Korca, Vlora, Fier, Elbasan and Saranda have confirmed their participation.
The Wind Bands Festival is the only activity of this kind in Albania. The festival is a vital musical manifestation and a joyful event for the people. This festival is included in the annual calendar of the artistic events of the Ministry of Culture and that of the Saranda municipality.
