TIRANA, July 20 – A coordination office offering employment opportunities for Albanians interested in working in Italy will be set up next September in Tirana, says the Albanian Labour Ministry. The deal was reached this week in Italy where Albanian Labour Minister Spiro Ksera signed a memorandum of understanding with his Italian counterpart Maurizio Sacconi. The deal will facilitate procedures to select, recruit and integrate Albanian citizens in the Italian labour market. The coordination office will be established at the Italian embassy in Tirana, offering Albanian jobseekers employment opportunities in Italy in cooperation with Albanian employment structures. The Albanian Minister said the computerization of employment services which had already started will facilitate the functioning of this office and the implementation of the memorandum. Last December, the Albanian Foreign Ministry and the Social Insurance Institute (SII) signed a deal to cooperate on facilitating voluntary contributions of Albanian citizens living and working abroad. Under the deal, the diplomatic representations abroad will enable Albanian immigrants to be acquainted with the voluntary social security contributions in the Republic of Albania, whereas the SII will make possible their inclusion in the voluntary social insurance scheme.
