Oil companies dominate top-10 turnover list

TIRANA, Aug. 7 – Oil companies dominate the top-ten list of the companies with the highest turnover in Albania in 2011. The list includes five oil companies, two banks, a mobile company and a metal plant.
Data obtained by local media show power distribution operator CEZ Shperndarje had the highest turnover in 2011 at an estimated 48.5 billion despite the company suffering in terms of profits. Second came Canadian-based Bankers Petroleum which operates the Patos-Marinza oilfield, followed by the two leading BKT and Raiffeisen banks, the Kurum steel plant, Armo oil refiner, Kastpetrol and Kastrati fuel companies and Vodafone Albania.
