TIRANA, Jan. 7 – Five contemporary artists have joined in an exhibition curated by Zef Paci to answer through their artworks children’s dilemma about Santa Claus. Open since December 29 at the Zeta gallery in Tirana, “Does Santa Claus exist?” is featuring 15 artworks by Andi Hila, Anila Shapalaku, Artan Dra誮i, Klodi Agostini and Ledia Kostandini. The works, mainly paintings, shed light on the ability or inability to enjoy year-end holidays and the dilemmas that children get about the Santa Claus as they grow up. “The title of the exhibition is not directly linked to the works. The beauty of art is the clue and if found everything becomes visible. Even in this case, it is enough to find the key and understand the meaning of an artwork, understanding the gist of what the works seek to convey; the desire or inability, is quite simple,” says curator Zef Paci.
The exhibition at the Zeta gallery, Hekla Centre in the Tirana e Re neighbourhood will remain open until January, 20, 2013.
The new exhibition comes soon after veteran painter Leke Tasi displayed his new cycle of “Overpass” works. Open since 2007, the Zeta Center is a non- profit center focused on visual arts that promotes collaborative, professional practices between the artists and curators, critics, researchers and other art professionals in order to contribute to the establishing of an active contemporary art stage in Albania.
