National Coastal Agency established

TIRANA, Jan. 22 – Government has approved the establishment of a National Coastal Agency which will focus on the protection of natural heritage. Commenting on the government decision, Tourism Minister Eglantina Gjermeni said the Agency will focus on sustainable development of the Albanian coastline and promote investments.
“The establishment of this Agency will create the necessary conditions to cooperate with domestic and international institutions and investors, and get them involved in concrete projects on the development of the coastline and sustainable tourism,” said Gjermeni, adding that the agency will closely cooperate with local government units.
The Agency will have 30 employees and four regional branches.
