TIRANA, March 13 – Four writers are representing Albania in the Leipzig book fair in Germany, one of the biggest book events in Germany and Europe.
Albania is represented in the fair held from March 12 to 16 by Matteo Mandala, a professor and researcher of Albania literature and the head of the Albanology department at the University of Palermo in Italy and writer and journalist Fatos Baxhaku.
Essayist Arjan Leka has been invited by the fair’s organizers to participate in the debate on literature in the Balkans. Meanwhile, writer Besnik Mustafaj was invited by the Traduki European network for literature and books after Albania recent full membership.
This is Albania’s fourth consecutive participation in the Leipzig book fair, the most important spring meeting place for the publishing and media sector which has evolved into an attractive hallmark both in Germany and across Europe. Held every March, the fair is a massive draw for publishers, writers, readers and journalists. An ideal communication platform, the Leipzig Book Fair provides extensive information about new publications as well as current and future trends in the German-speaking and European markets.
