TIRANA, May 13 – Nothing can stop the flow of time, only photography can crystallize the moment into a permanent image. This is the message that “A Narrative of Light and Shadow” photo exhibition” showcasing five sets of exquisite photography works by four renowned Taiwanese women photographers is bringing to Tirana.
Through the lenses of the four Taiwanese woman photographersؗang Hsiao-chin, Chien Fu-yu, Chang Hsiu-huang and Chang Yung-chiehشhe five sets of works include themes such as Taiwanese women’s portraiture, women’s role in the family, and Taiwanese culture and landscapes as seen through women’s eyes.
People rarely consider the effects of gender on perspective in photography. Subject matter may vary greatly between men and women, but physiological differences can also play a role in framing a shot; mere strength and size can have a big effect on the type of camera one uses and the position from which one takes a picture. This exhibition showcases such female perspectives and offers a rare opportunity for local viewers to see Taiwan and its vibrant colors through the eyes of these outstanding ladies.
The exhibition will be open at the National Museum of History in Tirana from May 12 to 27.
