Albanian student wins sculpture competition in Italy

TIRANA, June 18 – Students of the University of Tirana have won Italy’s Edgardo Mannucci international sculpture award for the third year in a row. This year’s award went to Ledian Ro詬 a student attending Master’s studies in monumental sculpture at the University of Arts in Tirana. He was awarded the first prize for his “Waiting” sculpture created in plastic and wood. The Albania University of Arts was represented with three students in the 21st edition of the Edgardo Mannucci competition held in Arcevia, Italy.
Named after a self-taught sculptor who reached international recognition, the Mannucci Sculpture Prize was created to encourage new artists.
