Polish movie to make Albania premiere

TIRANA, Oct. 28 – Gods, a 2014 Polish dramatic feature film directed by Lukasz Palkowski, will make its Albania premiere in a special screening at the Marubi film school brought by the Polish embassy in Tirana.

The movie is based on the life and career of Polish cardiac surgeon Zbigniew Religa, who performed the first successful heart transplant in Poland in 1985. Professor Religa was Poland’s Minister of Health in the period 2005-2007. The movie received the Golden Lions award for best film at the 39th Gdynia Film Festival (2014) and the Eagle at the Polish Film Awards (2015).

The movie, which has been seen by more than 2.2 million viewers since its launch in January 2015, is scheduled to screen at the Marubi academy on Monday, Nov. 2.
