TIRANA, Jan. 1 – The European Union has allocated 2.5 million euros in support of the project to boost the competitiveness of the Western Balkan economies, which will be implemented by the WB6 Investment Forum. Through this project, the European Union will help strengthen the capabilities of the WB6 Investment Forum and members individually to develop the regional economy, but the main beneficiaries of these funds will be the entrepreneurs.

About 200 companies from the region will be able to connect their businesses with one-another in bilateral business meetings organized by CIF, while 60 of them will be encouraged to enter international supply chains together at three major international fairs.

Special attention will be given to improving communication between the public and private sectors within the region and the EU, with the aim to promote and develop the regional economic area. In this line, three public-private dialogues between business and decision makers will be held with the participation of around 300 representatives of the region’s business community.

Moreover, three investment conferences will also be organized to promote the region and successful business stories in order to attract more foreign investors. About 60 companies will be able to rely on technical assistance in project preparations and applications for EU funds and programs.
