TIRANA, March 5 – The Coppelia ballet is making a comeback to Tirana this weekend after showing in Italy with choreography by Ilir Kerni, the director of the National Theatre of Opera and Ballet.
The Coppelia, a comic ballet in two acts originally choreographed by Arthur Saint-Léon to the music of Léo Delibes, with libretto by Charles Nuitter, is scheduled to stage on March 7 and 8 with Italy’s Matteo Pagliari as the conductor of the symphonic orchestra.
Coppélia, considered one of the greatest comic ballets of the 19th Century, has remained one of the best-loved classical works in the ballet repertory.
