TIRANA, March 12 – Donations by more than 300 people and businesses have helped the Albanian University of Arts buy a new Euro 27,000 piano after almost 50 years of no investments in musical instruments for students in the country’s only higher education school dedicated to music.

Professor Merita Rexha Tershani who led the fund-raising campaign says she is happy students and professors of this school traditionally known as the Academy of Arts can train on a professional piano.

Established in 1966, the Albanian Academy of Arts is the only higher education institution dedicated to music as well as visual and performing arts.
