The Dutch group, “Roerend Goed” put on a pop and jazz concert in Tirana and Durr쳮 On Thursday evening the quartet performed on stage at the Academy of Arts in Tirana, and the following evening at the Cultural Center in Durr쳮 Among the songs they interpreted were “A house is not a Home,” “The secret Marriage,” “Meditation,” “A Foggy Day,” “In the still of the night,” “Angel Eyes,” etc. which are all included in the album they recently produced. The singers introduced the songs themselves, giving a brief explanation of their messages.
Apart from their compositions, they interpreted other well known songs such as “Beseme Mucho,” the famous Mexican song of Consuelo Valazques, “Baby you can drive my car,” of the Beatles and compositions by Astor Piazzola or Sting, interpreted in four voices in their own original style. Most of the songs were interpreted in English and German and even in the Frisian dialect.
“Roerend Goed,” is a pop-jazz quartet from the Netherlands. Their uniqueness lies in the fact that they make music using their vocal chords alone. Sjoukje Ytsma-soprano, Esther de Meijer-alto, Henk Zegwaard-tenor and Jan Gommans-baritone are the members of the “Roerend Goed” quartet. (Tirana Times Staff)
