AIIS promotes book on post WWII American society and politics

TIRANA, June 18 – “The Big Challenges: The Society and the American Political System 1945-2008” a book in Albanian by international relations professor Enri Hide was promoted this week as a publication of the Albanian Institute for International Studies (AIIS). The launch ceremony held at the Tirana Times bookstore was attended by U.S Ambassador to Albania Alexander Arvizu, international relations experts and students.
In his book, Hide has undertaken a journey in the dynamics of the society and political processes in the U.S in order to contribute to a little known path in Albania, that of domestic policies and the American society. The book addresses issues of American democracy, institutions, political parties, the electoral system, ideology and justice in the United States. It is addressed to researchers, the general public, professors and decision-makers in Albania who can learn valuable lessons about the development of the American democracy in decades.
