Alapis to produce medicines for Albania

TIRANA, Nov.26 – A well-know Greek pharmaceutical company will build a factory to produce medicines in Albania, the Greek daily Kathimerini reported. The Albanian branch of the company will be called Veterinfarma Albania Ltd., and its headquarters will be in Tirana. The company will produce novel medicines for people and animals, as it has a history of being involved in the veterinary field as well. The market of pharmaceuticals in Albania brings a total revenues of around $150 million per year, according to estimations. The market is 90 percent imports dominated. Albanian made medicines do not surpass ten percent of the domestic market share.
