Albania has joined the BJCEM – Biennale des Jeunes Crà©ateurs de l’Europe et de la Mà©diterranà©e (Biennial of Young Artists from Europe and the Mediterranean). The membership was implemented within the cooperation agreement in the field of art, culture, and heritage between the Ministry of Culture and the Municipality of Turin, which was signed in Turin in 2015 by Albanian Minister of Culture Mirela Kumbaro Furxhi and Mayor of Turin Piero Fassino.
“The Ministry of Culture, within the promotional policies for young artists and expansion of cultural cooperation in the Mediterranean region and beyond, through membership in BJCM will create new opportunities to artists to participate in all activities, conferences, residencies, exhibitions etc., that the network will organize,” according to Albanian Ministry of Culture. Countries affiliated within the BJCEM voted unanimously for Albania’s entry into this network, seeing it as an opportunity to exchange ideas, visions among artists as well as give them the opportunity to cooperate with other artists from Europe and the Mediterranean.
