The Balkan Music Awards will be held on June 4th in Sofia

TIRANA, May 25 – Albania will be represented in this year’s Balkan Music Awards in Sofia with Origjinale (Original), a song by Aurela Gace featuring Dr. Flori and Marsel. The song representing Albania was the greatest hit in the country during 2010.
Aurela Gace was also the Albanian representative in this year’s Eurovision song contest but failed to make it to the final.
The country winners of this year’s edition of the Balkan Music Awards have been chosen. After an online voting campaign it became clear which songs would win the “Best Song” category from each country. From the 28th of March to the 8th of April, Balkan music fans cast their vote at the awards’ website www.balkanmusicawards.com.
They will all be present at the awards ceremony for the Balkan Music Awards, which will be held on June 4th in Sofia. The 11 songs will be performed live.
On the 4th of June the winners of the “Best Male Performer”, “Best Female Performer”, “Best Balkan Duet/Group”, “Best Balkan Video” and “Balkan Project” categories will also be revealed.
Romanian singer Inna, who will receive the “Worldwide Breakthrough” award, will perform her own show, as will the winner of the “Lifetime Achievement” award.
Out of all the winners, only Croatia’s Colonia retains its title from the previous Balkan Music awards ceremony. The audience in Sofia and the millions of TV viewers will be able to enjoy an impressive show, which the Balkanika Music Television team is preparing, organizers say.
Last year, Albanian singer Flori Mumajesi came second in the first edition of the Balkan Music Awards held in Sofia.
