TIRANA, July 20 – Albanian authorities proposed a seven-year strategy to improve the country’s transport network with international donors on Friday.

Transport ministry officials presented their plan to representatives of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, European Union, Italian Cooperation and others donors. The transport improvement strategy has been created in meetings with local consultants and now seeks international support.

The meeting served to review the existing road, sea, railway and air networks and the main goals for their future development and ways of funding the projects.

Minister Sokol Olldashi made a self-criticism for not spending the investment allocated from the budget and international institutions. The strategy will include comments from international donors and then it will be sent to the parliament for approval.
