TIRANA, March 10 – Albania is increasingly becoming an attractive market for real estate. Factors driving the real estate sector include better development of towns and cities and continuing peace in the Balkan region. However, industry officials believe large corporate investment will only be realistic once real political stability is seen in Albania.
The region seems to continue to enjoy significant growth and is outperforming the rest of Central Europe, analysts say.
However, construction has ground to a halt throughout the region, including Albania, due to conflicts, embargoes and the economy.
Residential property in Belgrade currently costs up to 4,000 Euros per square meter, 3,000 Euros in Croatia’s Zagreb, 2,000 Euros in Sarajevo in Bosnia, and some 1,500 Euros in Albania’s Tirana.(Tirana Times Staff)
