TIRANA, Feb. 25 – Albania has been included as a planned destination for ships cruising along southern European routes, according to the Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA).
Surprisingly, “nowhere are sea-going vacations growing at a faster rate than in Europe,” said Terry L. Dale, CLIA’s president and CEO, quoted by Travel Daily News.
Some 19 lines are committing a record number of their newest and largest ships to passenger cruising, and a large part of their routes pass by the sea ports of Turkey, Greece, Albania, Slovenia, Montenegro and Croatia.
While nearly all the member-companies of the Association will spend the spring and summer of 2008 in Europe’s Southern Seas, some of them, including Princess Cruises and Regent Seven Seas Cruises, offer particularly extensive opportunities for browsing Albanian and Croatian ports.
